Thank you so much for giving us “bad guys” that are so amazingly nuanced and fleshed out that you can’t help but love them for their own sakes. And not in the way we love Une and Treize (they’re so bad, it’s awesome) but like Zechs and Noin. You’ve given us a relationship that is realistic and supportive and healthy. Even if they’re not romantically linked (which they totally are), they are caring and supportive of each other because they genuinely care about each other, not because it furthers dastardly plans of evil derring do. Thank you for giving us characters like Zechs who are gallant and chivalrous to ladies without dehumanizing and objectifying them as damsels-in-distress. Thank you for giving us women like Noin who can care deeply about someone, but not have that love be the entire end-all, be-all of their existence. And most of all, thank you for giving us characters that can have the worst day of their life, and still come out of it snarky.
Said it before, saying it again… the Nogitsune is really fucking fed-up witih how stubborn this kid is about hanging on.
"You take the human without any training, they said. He’ll be easy to break, they said. Look at how pretty he is when he’s hurting, they said…" it mutters while trying to shove Stiles back into that tiny little compartment of his brain where the lost things go. All the while, Stiles is twisting and slipping out of his grip throwing things around in his own brain, and dodging behind piles of lasting but unimportant memories. (Who knew all those baseball statistics would actually be good for something, he thinks, watching the Nogitsune swearing as it trips over R.A. Dickey’s cummulative ERA with with Mets.) "
